Maayan Zilberman grew up in Vancouver, Canada and moved to New York in the mid ‘90s. She graduated from The School of Visual Arts with a degree in Sculpture followed by a residency at the Ratti Foundation in Como, Italy. From 2001 - 2014 Maayan worked as a Creative Director and Designer in the lingerie industry, founding designer intimates line The Lake & Stars in 2007.
In November 2015, Maayan founded luxury candy brand Sweet Saba in New York City with an edible exhibit at Fort Gansevoort Gallery in the Meatpacking District, then created pop up shops in Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. Her work has been featured at The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Met Gala, and private collections globally. These sugar works can be commissioned via Sweet Saba.
Maayan is currently working on large scale fountains and sculptures that will be exhibited in Fall of 2026 in New York.
